Real Estate Success Formula SOUL’D Chapter 1: CLARITY
Whether it is real estate or life there is a systematic formula for success.
But most people do not take the time to analyze what creates best results. When I teach real estate sales training I have learned that most of my students are quite clear what they don’t want, but not so clear what they do want.
I have my real estate students do a series of exercises which gets them reacquainted with who they are, their strengths and what’s important to them.
In one exercise I have them choose a partner – preferably a person they don’t know well. Next I have each of them tell the other what strengths they see in that person using their intuition. Not only does it help both of them ‘read people’, but it also helps them recognize their own strengths which they might have not previously acknowledged.
In my book Getting the Property SOUL’D the first eight chapters are dedicated to what qualities one needs to have success in real estate whether you are a Seller or Buyer or Realtor. Clarity is most important as how can someone implement a goal unless they known exactly what that goal is?
I was a scientist before I became a Real Estate Agent.
I had to look for another occupation, because I did not enjoy doing scientific experiments on animals. I also did not like being isolated in a laboratory. I loved people! I needed to find a job where I could socialize with people, be measured by own abilities and not have the same boring routine every day. Science was just way too boring!
When my landlady suggested real estate, I did the old fashioned Ben Franklin checklist, listing the pros and cons of being a real estate salesperson.
